Hi I’m Eva

I create mixed media paintings that transform spiritual language into visual language. My primary materials are flat clay panels attached to wood panels. Some mediums I use are acrylic/oil paint, alcohol ink, plaster and encaustics (wax). I mix these materials to construct a multi dimensional surface that reveals the multi dimensionality of life, the seen and the unseen. Some pieces are primarily wood, clay and paint while others are plaster ink and wax. Instead of focusing on creating a finished piece of work, I use my studio time to intuitively play. I call this play time, “science-ing.” I’m constantly asking questions, exploring and pushing the boundaries of my materials. 

My most recent works are visual representations of experiences I’ve had while doing psychic mediumship and spiritual events that have happened to me throughout my life. The information has different ways of coming through. I see color gradations, color masses or blob/shapes that shift, squiggles, symbols and actual images of things or people. I hear things, feel things and even smell things. For the last few years now, I have been developing this ability as a hobby while also developing my intuitive play in the studio. Through this development, I have discovered that psychic mediumship and creativity are the same thing. They both require side stepping the ego and allowing yourself to reach a state (I call it the zone) to receive information that is channeling the unseen world. Many artists or creatives channel already, my intent is to explore this in depth and with intent. Artists such as Hilma af Klint and Georgiana Houghton sought to be used as a tool for Spirit to work directly through them. Although I believe this is happening, my focus is to directly show the viewer how I see and what I experience when communicating with the other side. I believe this ability is something we all have access to and is not limited to the few. Channeling the unseen is something that is constantly at play, at all times and everywhere.
